From the wonderful 2015 vintage, its a claret of great pedigree and character made in conjunction with the esteemed Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of Château Angélus in Saint-Émilion, one of the most prestigious estates classified Premier Grand Cru Classé A status.

A 100 per cent Merlot from Bordeaux, produced in collaboration by Hubert and winemaker Philippe Nunes, Technical Director of Lalande de Pomerol vineyard La Fleur de Bouard. They acquired the 6.6 hectares estate, which sits upon a clay and chalky plateau of Saint Sulplice and Cameyrac, as well as on the gravely clays of Montussan. This is a perfect terroir for the culture of Merlot. The vines overhang a small river, La Laurence, from which the wine took its name. The wine is aged 14 month in barrels and vats.

Perfumed, fresh and floral on the nose with pronounced blackberry and cassis fruit. The warmth and generosity of the vintage is apparent here, with luscious black fruits and a plush, rounded texture on the palate. Certainly more substance than we would expect at this level - this has a real presence with a sweetness to the fruit and subtle notes of spice to the finish. Becomes more and more expressive with time in the glass. This is a wine to buy a case or two of to stock up.
